·1 tablespoon olive oil or ghee
·1/2 onion, coarsely chopped
·1 clove garlic, minced
·1 lb turnips, peeled and cut into large chunks
·3/4 lb gold potatoes, peeled and halved large chunks
·2 cups chicken broth
·1/4 teaspoon fresh thyme
·1-2 bay leaves
·1 dash ground nutmeg
·Salt and pepper, to taste
·sprigs of fresh thyme, for garnish
